Product Development Laboratory Spinning Unit
Ring-spun yarn still dominates the world market of staple fibre production based on the excellent yarn structure and utilisation of fibrous substance.
Cetex has developed a modular and flexible laboratory spinning unit for the short, medium and long staple range that supports the new technologies like compact spinning, Siro and core processes.
The basic equipment includes a 3-roller drafting system, a compacting unit with perforated rubber or woven aprons, a moving ring rail, a fixed spindle bearing plate with an individual spindle drive system on the 6 spinning heads. The basic configuration can be extended with various components that can be exchanged and/or added. The additional components for manufacturing core and Siro spun yarn and the sliver feed can be adapted easily. It is possible to manufacture standard yarns in the traditional manner by simply extending the compacting equipment. The switch cabinet is integrated in the laboratory spinning unit.
The wide variety of possible combinations provides development potential for designing new types of yarn structures for various applications:
- Processing of staple fibre yarns made of cotton, chemical fibres, woll and silk as well as of blends of these materials
- Producing core yarn in conjunction with various types of core fibres with the widest possible varieties of material quality with up to 2 core materials.
- It is possible to process core fibres ranging from non-elastic to highly elastic.
- Production of mock twisted yarn structures (Siro spinning process) with various "yarn designs" up to and including Siro spun core compact yarn
- Production of fancy yarns that are programmable concerning length, thickness and distance
- This improves the utilisation of the fibres in the raw material and increases the quality of the yarns.
The laboratory spinning unit is interesting for yarn producers, producers of textiles machines and components just as for research institutes and educational institutions.
